Meet the Team
Michael Young, Catering and Events Coordinator
Michael Young is the Catering and Events Coordinator for Halyards Catering
Michael Young began his career with Halyards Catering in 2014, gaining unparalleled experience in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries as a warehouse and logistics manager. In 2016, Michael was promoted to his current position as catering and events manager, working directly with clients to design, plan, and execute exceptional experiences.
The skills Michael now uses to plan full-scale weddings, corporate events, and private dinners—logistics, team leadership, and operations administration—are abilities he developed as a young professional athlete.
At 16, his dedication to supercross and motocross took him to the highest level of the sport. Michael had a successful racing career, competing around the world for more than ten years. In addition, he participated in the production of educational and training videos for youth riders, performed stunt work, and was featured in several magazines. After injuries resulted in an early retirement from racing personally, Michael stayed involved in the sport as a team manager for a pro team, leading staff and racers to a record-breaking season while sharpening his planning and execution capabilities.
As a professional athlete, Michael learned the value of hard work and perseverance in achieving his goals. Strategizing his own racing career and leading a pro racing team gave him tools he utilizes today in the event planning and hospitality industry.
Michael is married to Heather and is the proud father of three amazing girls—Scarlett, Missy, and Makenzie. When not working with Halyards clients, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, golfing with his father, flying his drone, and repairing iPads and iPhones.
Cassie Jones, Food Truck Coordinator
Cassie Jones is the Food Truck Coordinator for Halyards Catering
Cassie Jones was born and raised in North Georgia, where she lived with her mom on Lake Allatoona. In her early years, you could find Cassie cheerleading or riding her dirt bike. She first discovered her love for the customer service industry while attending cosmetology school. And in 2018, Cassie moved to Glynn County where she reignited her passion for helping customers by beginning a career in food service.
At Porch on St. Simons Island, Cassie worked as shift leader for three years, getting her first taste for the food truck industry. It was here that she met her wife, Victoria Jones, who has been a part of the Halyard Restaurant Group team since 2015. Cassie soon began a new adventure at Tramici, where she worked as a server, helped with catering events, and found her new restaurant family.
Cassie recently made an exciting transition to the Halyards Catering Team, taking on a leadership role as Food Truck Coordinator for Hal the Food Truck. Along with her team, Cassie is busy serving up delicious dishes all around Glynn County. Off the food truck, Cassie enjoys spending time with her two sons, Kason and Kade. Keep an eye out for Cassie on the road with Hal and at our catered events!
